Not liking this combo - Usually I like the new mixes but this one doesn t do it for me. The old Sergio Mendes albums stand alone and I much prefer the purity and smoothness of his early sound. I gave it three because the cover is awesome.
NIGHTMARE - Brazilian beats fused with Hip-Hop..........a marriage made in HELL! Don t waste your time or money.
great listen - i have enjoyed this album since i bought it. it s a great listen when you re cleaning. all the songs and artist did an excellent job putting this together. it really is a timeless album.
Hip hop shed lights on gifted past. - I first heard the hip hop version of mas que nada during the world cup in 2006. I loved the samba/hip hop mix. When you listen to the album you can hear the musical talents of Sergio Mendes. Will I Am introduces Mendes to a whole new generation.I loved this album. The collaborations with some of today s bigger artist should satisfy anyone s hunger for something new and relatable. Plus this album made me want to look for Mendes previous works, which are pure genuis.
desert island 5 - I search the world in pursuit of works like this one. I feel blessed upon owning it. 51 years old and I grew up listening to my father s Sergio Mendez stuff (as well as Ellington etc). The hybrid that resulted from this masterpiece is amongst the most perfect I own in my collection. My only objection is that I have not been able to stop playing it ever since I bought it years ago. A Real Masterpiece. I will buy 2 copies on line today for the sake of giving to music enthusiest friends Two others I may recomend with confidence that equal this one:Rock Swings - Paul AnkaRio Momo - David Byrne (talking heads fame)
